Instrument Care
At Beyond Tone Instruments, we handle rare, boutique, & vintage gear daily. This guide covers the simple habits that keep guitars, basses, pedals, & amps performing at their best at home, in transit, in the studio & on the road.
What humidity is best for guitars?
45–55% relative humidity is the sweet spot for most acoustic & electric guitars.
Can low humidity damage guitars?
Yes—dry air can cause cracks, fret sprout, sharp fret ends, sinking tops, & bridge issues.
Do electric guitars need humidity control?
Less sensitive than acoustics, but still benefit—fret sprout & neck movement are common in dry seasons.
