One of the most distinctive instruments with the tone & feel to match
Built by Polish luthier Marek Dąbek of Stradi, this Jazz Guitar takes a completely different approach to the modern electric guitar. Rather than simply chambering a traditional solid body, Marek carved the solid spruce body itself to function as a resonant soundboard, graduating it to approximately 6mm through the center and substantially thicker toward the perimeter for a combination of resonance, rigidity and stability.
The result is an incredibly lively instrument. You can physically feel the body responding beneath your hands, and unlike a conventional solidbody, it produces a surprisingly audible acoustic voice even unplugged.
The construction and appointments are equally special. An oak neck reinforced with carbon-fiber tubes provides stability while an ebony fingerboard with EVO Gold frets gives the instrument a smooth, precise playing surface. The bridge and pickup surround are individually carved from solid ebony, with their sculptural shapes drawing inspiration from Japanese architecture.
Electronics are handled by a custom-wound Hathor pickup, voiced for a warm, full and powerful response that complements the naturally resonant spruce construction.
The rear of the instrument features a substantial solid-brass backplate, adding visual contrast and additional mass while the custom ebony tailpiece incorporates proper string grounding.
Despite the amount of carving, brass and substantial construction, the guitar weighs only approximately 2.15 kg / 4.74 lbs.
